Collaborating on the Development of "Mobilit.E.S," a Location-Based Service for Mobility That Turns "Travel" into an Attraction

Ashibi Company, Inc. has collaborated on the development of "Mobilit.E.S," a location-based service for mobility developed by Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Iwata, Shizuoka; President: Motofumi Shitara) that aims to "turn every location into a theme park." By linking smartphone applications with audio content, external lighting equipment, projectors, and signage, the service provides an experience where the act of moving itself becomes an attraction. It has been implemented on Okushiri Island in Hokkaido since April, and the company will continue to expand its availability to contribute to promoting regional appeal and revitalizing tourism.

Based on the concept that "traveling should be more fun and more educational," "Mobilit.E.S" has undergone repeated field tests in various regions, including Okinawa and Oita Prefectures. The service is scheduled to be fully launched for local governments and tourism stakeholders starting in April 2026.

This service combines mobility with a dedicated app, linking with content such as audio guides, projection mapping, and signage displays throughout a designated area. When tourists carry a device with the web app configured and travel through the area, the system triggers audio guides introducing nearby tourist attractions and recommended spots, or activates visual effects like projection mapping.

It is also possible to change the production content based on the season, time of day, weather, as well as the number of times a specific spot has been approached or the route taken. This allows for the adjustment of target locations based on seasons or weather conditions, and encourages tourists to explore by ensuring they can enjoy different content each time they visit the same location.
