The Termite Warning consists of 'Forecasts' predicting the peak of winged termite swarms based on the past 10 years of occurrence trends and climate data, and 'Warnings/Alerts' compiled from occurrence reports continuously received by Asante. Winged termites appear only once a year between April and June, serving as a sign of termite damage, hence the alert. From April to May this year, temperatures are high nationwide. Based on Asante's proprietary analysis, the peak of the Yamato termite swarm is expected to be slightly earlier than an average year. Please be careful, as Yamato termite swarms are highly likely to occur during the daytime when the temperature rises after rain. 2026 Termite Swarm Forecast ■ Overview of 'Termite Warning' Survey Period: 2016 to 2025 (Survey conducted for 3 months from April to June every year) Survey Method: Collecting information on winged termite (mainly Yamato termite) occurrences reported to Asante's Customer Service Center, aggregated by month and prefecture. As a temporary measure you can do yourself when finding a swarm, we recommend vacuuming them up or washing them away with hot water if they are in the entryway or bathroom. Using insecticides is not highly recommended because it might cause the termites to burrow deeper into the soil. These are strictly temporary methods; be sure to consult a professional for an inspection and future countermeasures.
