Arty Intelligence Lab. (Representative: Tsuyoshi Hashiguchi), a firm specializing in generative AI consulting, has conducted a verification experiment to see "how far generative AI can withstand practical use in the creative domain" by co-creating the entire process of a book—from planning and writing to proofreading, illustration generation, and promotion design—with generative AI. As a result of this effort, the published book, "The Anatomy of Foreign-Affiliated Sales," achieved #1 in three Amazon categories simultaneously: "Sales," "Career," and "Organizational Theory."

About the Book This book records the reality of sales organizations at foreign-affiliated IT companies, written by an author who served as an executive officer at Google Japan. The concept of reading it as "half entertainment" rather than a serious how-to book has garnered support, with feedback from both experienced professionals and newcomers to the foreign-affiliated sector, such as "This is so relatable" and "I didn't know this world existed."
The book's unique feature lies not only in its content but in the fact that generative AI was integrated into the entire production process. Multiple generative AI tools were used in parallel across all phases, from the planning stage to writing, proofreading, illustration generation, and promotion design.
Background of the Verification Experiment: Consultants "Trying It Out" Themselves Arty Intelligence Lab. is a consulting firm that supports the introduction and utilization of generative AI for small and medium-sized enterprises in Japan. Representative Hashiguchi chose the non-technical areas of writing, editing, and promotion as the stage for his experiment, based on the belief that "if you are going to talk about the potential of generative AI, you should verify it yourself in the most difficult areas."
For the theme, he utilized primary information regarding sales organizations at foreign-affiliated IT companies, which he accumulated during his tenure as an executive officer at Google Japan. By combining existing column assets with generative AI, he executed the entire process from planning to publication and promotion in one go.
Production Process Using Generative AI Tools Used: Claude (writing/proofreading) / Gemini (overall review/structure check) / ChatGPT (strategy brainstorming) / Cursor (AI-integrated editor) / Nano Banana Pro (illustration generation) / Gemini Canvas (promotion design) / Perplexity (information research) / Genspark (cover generation)
Production Flow: 1. Planning and Structure Design: Brainstorming persona settings, verifying uniqueness, and designing chapter structures with Claude and Gemini. 2. Writing: Approximately 80% was written by the author himself (smartphone voice input + Cursor), with generative AI handling the remaining 20%. AI was used for tasks such as generating glossaries and outlines for columns. 3. Proofreading and Structure Check: Running the full text through Gemini for logical consistency and typo checks, followed by precise proofreading for each chapter. 4. Illustration and Cover Production: Generating illustrations with Nano Banana Pro (Imagen) and completing the cover almost in one take with Genspark. 5. Promotion Design: Designing advertising budget allocation, SNS strategy, and launch schedules with Gemini Canvas. Finalizing pricing strategy in parallel with ChatGPT and Claude. 6. Publication Registration: Completing publication registration on KDP while confirming procedures with Perplexity.
Details of the production process are available in the following notes (in Japanese): [Part 1] I tried self-publishing a book using generative AI: From writing to promotion [Part 2] I tried self-publishing a book using generative AI: From writing to promotion

What the Experiment Questions: The Boundary Between Generative AI and Creativity What emerged through this verification is the fundamental question of "what is creativity?" In terms of the book's content, there is almost nothing that "generative AI does not possess as knowledge." An era has already arrived where anyone can extract equivalent "information" without actual experience, provided they have the ability to structure it.
In 2025, a band called The Velvet Sundown suddenly appeared on Spotify and quickly reached 1 million monthly listeners, but it was later revealed that everything was produced by generative AI. It shocked the world as an experiment testing the boundary between "reality and virtuality" in the art domain.
A similar tectonic shift is beginning in publishing and writing. Through this book, the author verified for himself, "Where can we draw the line now between creative work automated by AI and creative work that harbors human identity?" The afterword of this book contains the suggestion that the areas still uniquely left to humans are those that go beyond superficial imitation—such as habits of thought, the rhythm of one's writing style, and phrasing.
Representative's Comment: "I was able to verify for myself that generative AI can withstand practical use in a truly diverse range of fields, from creative work and research to administrative tasks. On the other hand, human identity still resides in areas like habits of thought and the rhythm of writing style. Now that mass-producing books is becoming a reality as long as you have the ability to structure them, 'what to write' and 'why to write' are becoming more essential questions." — Tsuyoshi Hashiguchi, Representative, Arty Intelligence Lab.

Future Developments Next, I am planning a book where generative AI will handle approximately 80% of the writing. I will continue the experiment to further raise the limit of AI utilization through an automated flow combining Claude and multi-agents. I plan to return these findings to companies to promote their AI utilization through my consulting activities.
