Exhibition Statement
My Utopia: A place that is dimmer rather than brighter, warmer rather than colder. Silence rather than noise. In the forest, in a bamboo grove (where you can hear the wind and birdsong. Few insects).
Spring nights when I didn't have hay fever. Summer nights from those days. Ha Long Bay.
When enveloped by the scents of damp earth, fig leaves, jasmine, and coffee.
Scattered paint cans visible in the corner of my eye. Graffiti-covered concrete walls, back alleys.
The crackling sound from records, white noise on a rainy day heard indoors.
What I've listed here are things that calm me, places, memories, in short, things that bring happiness to my life.
While all of these exist and might be insignificant to someone else.
If you add a touch of "dream" to them, it becomes my own Utopia.
Such as a lethargic ghost drifting about, mushrooms shaped like cat ears growing, or a vase that occasionally winks at you...
In this way, my own Utopia will surely continue to grow.
And if possible, I hope to invite many people to that place in the future.
Just as you, today, at this moment, have visited my Utopia.
