Aqua Plus Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "Aqua Plus") will simultaneously release "Utawarerumono: Shiru e no Michishirube," the latest title in the "Utawarerumono" series, on Nintendo Switch™2, PlayStation®5, and Steam® on Thursday, May 28, 2026. Today, Thursday, April 30, 2026, we have released the latest information on new characters and new elements of the combat system on the official website.

This title is the latest work in the "Utawarerumono" series, inheriting the story and world view that has been spun so far, while depicting a new story. It is a work packed with Aqua Plus's unique commitment to story, characters, music, and direction, enjoyable not only for long-time fans who have supported the series but also for those new to "Utawarerumono." In addition to PlayStation®5 and Steam®, this title will also be released as Aqua Plus's first Nintendo Switch™2 title. Furthermore, to enhance the enjoyment of this title on Nintendo Switch™2, the simultaneous release of "Monochrome Mobius: Toki no Daii," one of the series' works, has also been decided. * Amatsuki (CV: Hitomi Ueda) Leader of a fleet engaging in illicit trade at sea. Referred to as "Ane-san" (big sister/boss) by her crew. * Chicocoa (CV: Akane Fujita) A woman from Arva-Schran. Seems to have a deep connection with Shunya...? * Shantura (CV: Kikuko Inoue) An honorific referring to the Pope in Arva-Schran. Worries about the fate of the nation and pushes forward with unwavering resolve. * Valga (CV: Hiroki Maeda) Shantura's vassal, a pure warrior who seeks strength. Currently engaged in "excavating" something. * Narakfara (CV: Manabu Muraji) Shantura's vassal, primarily assists with government affairs. ### New Game System Elements Revealed!

On the "System" page of the official website, further information regarding the game system has been released. In addition to new elements, various systems, including combat, are introduced.

* Kashin Gongen One of the new elements added to this title. It is a new masked power usable by Oshtor and Mikazuchi. By selecting the "Kashin Gongen" command during Spirit Release, they can unleash dedicated combat skills for a certain number of turns. The spiritual power for dedicated combat skills is consumed as a percentage rather than a fixed value, but all of them are extremely powerful. * Senjutsu, Ougi Unlike normal attacks, commands that consume spiritual power are called "Senjutsu." Each character can advance battles using various Senjutsu, such as attacks, healing, buffs/debuffs, and summons. As the story progresses, "Ougi" (secret arts) can be activated during Spirit Release. While consuming a large amount of spiritual power, they exhibit powerful effects that can significantly turn the tide of battle. * Reigyoku An element exclusive to Shunya, one accumulates automatically when it's her turn. Senjutsu activated by consuming Reigyoku often have effects that benefit allies and disadvantage enemies, proving useful in battles against formidable foes. * Irai (Requests) Various requests are posted on edicts in towns across the land. You can accept requests by checking their content and rewards and then visiting the client. Rewards include not only items but also experience points, allowing for rapid experience gain and level-ups upon completing requests. Also, by completing a certain number of requests, you can visit "Yuuri's Room" at Oshtor's mansion to receive helpful俸禄 (stipend) for your journey from the court. * Toshi (Investment), Uchinaoshi (Reforging) At the equipment shop in the imperial capital, you can perform "Toshi" by providing materials. In this title, materials required for character level-up and materials required for investment in the equipment shop are separated. By investing in each category of weapons, body armor, leg armor, and accessories, you can create higher-tier equipment.
