APA Hotel Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Akasaka, Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Fumiko Motoya), which operates Japan's largest hotel network with 1,071 hotels and 143,915 rooms (including those under construction, overseas, and partner hotels), has signed a franchise agreement with Otaru Green Hotel Co., Ltd. and opened APA Hotel <Okhotsk Kitami> (100 rooms) today.

The hotel is located approximately 5 minutes by car from JR Kitami Station and 40 minutes from Memanbetsu Airport. Kitami City is a hub city with the largest population in the Okhotsk region and serves as a center for agriculture, forestry, and winter vehicle testing. The area is also known for its 'Yakiniku' culture, curling, and mint history, making it a prime location for both business and leisure travel.

In conjunction with the opening, the guest rooms have been renovated to the 'New Urban Hotel' standard, based on the philosophy of high quality, high functionality, and environmental friendliness. Standard specifications include a 50-inch or larger LCD TV in all rooms, and two electrical outlets at the bedside for convenient charging of mobile phones and smartphones. Other features include APA Digital Information on the TV screen for hotel guidance, free viewing of VOD APA Room Theater, and free Wi-Fi connection in all guest rooms and the lobby. As an environmentally friendly hotel, four types of room amenities (toothbrush, razor, hairbrush, and shower cap) have been replaced with products using biomass raw materials and recycled plastics.

Regarding future plans in Hokkaido, APA Hotel & Resort <Sapporo Station North> (488 rooms) and APA Hotel <Sapporo Station West> (168 rooms) are scheduled for 2027. Additionally, as part of the company's 'Scrap & Build' strategy, APA Hotel <Sapporo Hosui Susukino Ekimae> closed today to be reborn as a new hotel with approximately 150 rooms. APA Hotel <Okhotsk Kitami> is the second opening in the East Hokkaido area, following APA Hotel <Obihiro Ekimae> (222 rooms), bringing the total number of APA Hotels in Hokkaido to 14 hotels with 3,485 rooms.
