Aoba-BBT, Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and President: Iwao Shibata; hereinafter "Aoba-BBT") will hold a special online talk event on Wednesday, April 23, 2026, as a symbolic project of the "Anniversary Project" being promoted across the group.
Our guest will be Mr. Taichiro Motoe, Representative Director and CEO of Bengo4.com, Inc., and a lawyer known as Japan's first "listed company founder with a law license," who built the foundation for his entrepreneurship at our company's Attackers Business School (ABS).
Mr. Motoe, who built a company listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Market from scratch—at one point reaching a market capitalization of over 300 billion yen—will join our President, Iwao Shibata, to discuss "entrepreneurial decision-making" and "social reform strategies" in an era of uncertainty.

Background of the Event
This talk is a key project of the "Anniversary Project ~Life-time Empowerment in Invisible Continent~" being rolled out by the Aoba-BBT Group from 2025 to 2027. Centered around 2026, multiple educational institutions within our group, including the Attackers Business School (ABS, established in 1996, 30th anniversary) and the Business Breakthrough University and Graduate School, are reaching milestone anniversaries. We view this time not merely as a passing point, but as a starting point for creating new value for the "next 50 to 100 years."
Purpose of the Project
The goal of this project is to share how our philosophy of "Life-time Empowerment" can become a force for social change through the trajectories of the diverse alumni that the Aoba-BBT Group has produced.
Despite having a stable career path guaranteed as a lawyer, Mr. Motoe decided to start a business in the then-unexplored field of "Law x IT" after studying at ABS. His trajectory—facing industry conventions head-on, changing access to legal services with the lawyer search portal "Bengo4.com," and even transforming Japan's hanko (seal) culture with the electronic contract service "CloudSign"—is innovation itself.
By sharing the story of how an alumnus who once spread his wings of challenge at our school built a leading company representing Japan and continues to transform social structures, we aim to pass the baton of challenge to the next generation of leaders.
Highlights of the Talk
In this talk, we will explore the "secret to the strength" of Bengo4.com and Mr. Motoe's "secrets to success on the opposite side of common sense" from the following three perspectives:
・ The Ultimate 'Reverse Thinking'
How did Mr. Motoe turn walls that many believed were "unchangeable," such as lawyer advertising regulations and the hanko culture, into "business opportunities"? We will delve into the "thinking method for creating 1 from 0" cultivated during his time at ABS and the mindset required to stick to one's convictions even when isolated.
・ 'Market Creation Strategy' That Overturns Common Sense
How was the model of "free legal consultation," which broke the industry common sense of the time, born? We will unravel the process of creating a massive LegalTech market from scratch and the growth strategy as a platformer.
・ 'Vision for the Next Generation' Drawn by Law x Technology
What is the future beyond the mission of "Creating the next common sense with 'Professional Tech'"? As AI and LegalTech become established as social infrastructure, we will offer suggestions on the role humans should play and the "national-level perspective" that young people aiming to start businesses should possess.
