【Lecture Abstract】

Recently, fine bubbles, known as fine bubbles with a size of 100μm or less, have been attracting attention for their ability to impart various functions to liquids, leading to research and industrial applications in fields such as environment, agriculture, food, fisheries, and medicine.

Fine bubbles are classified into two types based on bubble size: microbubbles of micrometer size and ultra-fine bubbles of nanometer size.

In recent years, interest has grown in ultra-fine bubbles that remain in liquids for several weeks to several months. However, there are many skeptical voices, such as 'the generation device was introduced but no effect was obtained,' 'data reproducibility cannot be ensured,' and 'do they really exist in the liquid?', posing significant challenges to technology dissemination.

On the other hand, the elucidation of the fundamental science regarding the stable existence mechanism and behavior of ultra-fine bubbles is steadily progressing, and practical application technologies are also developing in parallel. The presenters have used their unique ultra-fine bubble generation technology to achieve high number density control exceeding 100 billion particles/mL without accompanying pressurization or concentration operations, and have approached the understanding of the stabilization mechanism from a new perspective.

This seminar will explain the concepts for correctly understanding fine bubble technology and effectively extracting its benefits, based on these latest research findings. It will systematically introduce basic physical properties, characteristics, and functions, generation device technology, measurement and evaluation methods, and concrete application examples, thereby clarifying the essence of fine bubbles (ultra-fine bubbles) based on their generation mechanism and the design and application points for practical use.
