Kenta Matsusaka, a photographer belonging to Amana Inc. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Takeaki Kaneko; hereinafter referred to as "Amana"), a company that realizes communication transformation through creativity, was involved in the movie production of the video work "[MAZDA Documentary] 25 Years with the RX-7, The Final 3 Days ~What the Car Left Behind~" produced by LUCK Inc. This work has won a "BRONZE" award in the Entertainment category at the "Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2026," the world's largest festival of communication and creativity.
This work is a documentary film that depicts the 25-year journey of an 80-year-old female owner and a sports car (Mazda RX-7), meticulously capturing her "final three days of parting." Transcending the boundaries of mere commercial advertising, its profound bond between a person and a car, its emotional storytelling, and its beautiful visual expression that deeply resonated with the judges led to this award.
Kenta Matsusaka (Cinematography) Comment
"I am deeply honored and humbled to receive such a wonderful award, BRONZE, at the Cannes Lions, the world's largest advertising festival. During this shoot, my top priority was to create an atmosphere where Ms. Nishimoto, who is 80 years old, could be as natural as possible, without being overly conscious of the camera. All the staff avoided excessive direction and continued filming while staying close to Ms. Nishimoto's feelings. After completion, we received a great deal of feedback and praise from both domestic and international audiences, and I was once again reminded that the message of this work reaches across generations, genders, and borders. I will take this award as great encouragement and continue to pursue visual communication that deeply resonates with people's hearts."
