Alyawmu Inc. (Headquarters: Sapporo City, Hokkaido, CEO: Hiroaki Hatanaka), in collaboration with Shirahama Town, Wakayama Prefecture, announces the results of the workation promotion and DAO incentive research project using the Local Vitalization Cooperator DAO community 'Shirahamania' (Implementation period: July 2025 - January 2026). This project was implemented after being selected for the FY2025 'Migration, Settlement, and Exchange Promotion Support Project' (Municipal Member Collaboration Project Expense Subsidy) by the Japan Organization for Internal Migration (JOIN) and the Japan Center for Regional Development. The project is funded by proceeds from the Municipal Promotion Lottery (Summer Jumbo Lottery).

Background: Challenges in Shirahama Town and the DAO Approach While Shirahama Town in Wakayama Prefecture is one of the leading tourist destinations in the Kansai region, promoting stays during off-seasons and weekdays, and preparing an environment to accept teleworkers, remains a challenge. Meanwhile, information on spots suitable for workation use was scattered, requiring systematic investigation and organization.

In this project, participants of the DAO community 'Shirahamania', based on LINE OpenChat, acted as investigators. Instead of a single administrative survey, it was conducted as a community-participatory decentralized investigation. Furthermore, as a measure to encourage participation, multiple types of incentive systems were designed and tested to verify their effectiveness.
