A survey of 500 home router users by ALL CONNECT Inc. found that 59.2% experience speed limits or sudden slowdowns 'occasionally' or 'frequently.' The most common situation to notice this was 'during peak usage at night' (44.3%). SoftBank Air was the most used or considered service (33.2%). However, only 45.0% of users understood their 'unlimited data' plan was actually 'conditionally unlimited,' revealing that over half of users have an incomplete understanding of their contract terms. While the 'hassle of the process' is the top reason for not switching providers, 74.2% would be willing to switch if cancellation fees were waived or covered.
