1. Background and Objectives

Under its group philosophy, "Creating and Delivering Vibrant Lives for All," the Alfresa Group, in its "Alfresa Group Mid-to-Long-Term Vision"*1 up to fiscal year 2032, has set three themes for social value creation: "Extending Healthy Life Expectancy," "Contributing to Regional Healthcare," and "Healthcare Innovation."

Meisho, a comprehensive trading company dealing in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, reagents, and chemical raw materials, operates under the philosophy of "Contributing to the health and happiness of local people through our business." We promote contributions to regional healthcare in the Hokuriku region by ensuring a stable supply of pharmaceuticals, providing information on infectious disease control and disease prevention, and establishing stockpiling and supply systems with disasters in mind, while valuing harmony, connection, and conversation. In Fukui Prefecture, we conduct business closely integrated with the local community through our Fukui and Tsuruga branches.

Awara City, in its "2nd Awara City Health Plan"*2, upholds the basic philosophy of "A city where people can live healthy and fulfilling lives throughout their lives" and is engaged in "physical health promotion," "mental health promotion," and "promotion of food education." Furthermore, based on the "Awara City Disaster Prevention Plan"*3, the city comprehensively and systematically promotes disaster prevention activities with the aim of protecting the invaluable lives, bodies, and property of its citizens from disasters.

Through this comprehensive partnership agreement, Meisho and Awara City will collaborate on initiatives such as health promotion and disease prevention, infectious disease control, dementia prevention, and the stockpiling and supply of pharmaceuticals and hygiene products in the event of a disaster. Through these activities, we will contribute to the health promotion and the realization of a safe and secure life for the residents of Awara City.
