Actio Corporation (Headquarters: Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President & COO: Naoto Onuma, hereinafter 'Actio'), a comprehensive construction machinery rental company, will launch rental services for its original 'Special Wastewater Treatment System: Nano-Separator' starting June 15, 2026 (Monday). This system effectively removes heavy metals and dioxins from wastewater.

In recent years, construction and demolition sites—especially those involving incinerator dismantling, redevelopment of former factory sites, and equipment replacement within industrial facilities—have faced increasingly stringent environmental regulations regarding wastewater discharge. During foundation demolition and similar processes, water containing dioxins, lead, arsenic, hexavalent chromium, and other heavy metals must be treated before release. Traditional wastewater treatment methods require multiple interconnected systems, making space allocation a significant challenge.

Actio's newly developed 'Special Wastewater Treatment System: Nano-Separator' features a compact design with only six bundles of straw-like ultrafine tubes, known as 'UF (Ultrafiltration) membranes,' installed inside the unit. By applying pressure via a pump, wastewater is forced through the membranes, allowing only water molecules to pass through microscopic pores while filtering out impurities. The membrane inlets are tightly sealed to prevent untreated water from bypassing the filtration process, ensuring stable and reliable performance. The system employs an environmentally low-impact filtration technology that achieves high-precision water purification without using any chemical agents. It can process up to 5 cubic meters of wastewater per hour and capture particles as small as 10 nanometers (nm). This enables the physical removal of hazardous substances including viruses, bacteria, asbestos, dioxins, and heavy metals, achieving effluent quality that meets the extremely strict discharge standard of 1 picogram (pg) for dioxins. Additionally, internet connectivity enables remote operation, enhancing operational efficiency.

*1 Nanometer (nm): One-millionth of a millimeter

*2 Picogram (pg): One-trillionth of a gram

Actio will continue leveraging its 'Rental + Consulting' expertise to deliver products and services that balance environmental responsibility with productivity.

Key Features of the 'Special Wastewater Treatment System'

① Equipped with six bundles of 'UF (Ultrafiltration) membranes,' consisting of bundled straw-like fine tubes

② Water passes through the membrane under pressure; only purified water drips through the microscopic pores on the membrane surface (physical separation filtration)

③ Capable of capturing particles as small as 10nm

④ Meets the extremely strict 1pg discharge standard for dioxins

⑤ No chemical agents (e.g., coagulants) required—treatment achieved solely through membrane filtration, reducing environmental impact

⑥ Capable of processing 5 cubic meters of wastewater per hour

⑦ Installation space reduced to less than half of conventional systems

⑧ Remote operation enabled via internet connectivity

⑨ Potential applications include desalination of seawater and provision of potable water at construction sites
