Aktio Co., Ltd. (Head office: Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and COO: Naoto Konuma; hereinafter "Aktio"), a general construction machinery rental company, has opened the "Nagano Chikuma Technopark General Factory" as a new base to support infrastructure in the Hokushinetsu area, commencing full-scale operation on December 1, 2025.

This factory is a next-generation integrated facility equipped with advanced technology for in-house maintenance and quality improvement, and also serves as a disaster prevention base to support regional recovery activities in the event of a disaster.

Since the opening of the Sano Technopark General Factory in 2001, Aktio has been expanding large-scale maintenance and logistics factories nationwide, which also function as research and development centers and training fields (※1). These facilities are positioned as places for maintenance, R&D, human resource development, and as supply bases for machinery and equipment during disasters, fulfilling important roles in connecting with local communities and as disaster prevention hubs. The "Nagano Chikuma Technopark General Factory," which has now commenced operation, is the 9th Technopark General Factory nationwide.

Aktio will continue to enhance the development of such bases and evolve towards realizing sustainable growth. To respond to market needs, we will establish a faster and more efficient supply system and strive to create a new, highly competitive system in consideration of various environmental changes.

※1 Aktio is also focused on human resource development, such as civil engineering training using ICT construction machinery, to ensure customers can safely and reliably operate machinery.

Establishing an Infrastructure Support System Covering Hokushinetsu

The "Nagano Chikuma Technopark General Factory" has been established as a service base primarily covering Nagano Prefecture, along with the Hokushinetsu area including Ishikawa, Toyama, Fukui, and Niigata, and parts of the Kanto area. Furthermore, it is strategically located midway between the Sano Technopark General Factory in Tochigi Prefecture and the Mie Inabe Technopark General Factory in Mie Prefecture, enabling faster machine supply through coordination with each base.

"In-house Maintenance" and "Quality Improvement" through Cutting-Edge Technology

Introduction of specialized equipment such as automatic welding robots and hydraulic hose production machines, as well as in-house production of bucket repairs and consumable parts that were traditionally outsourced.

Designated Maintenance Factory with Latest Equipment

As a designated maintenance factory equipped with the latest lowering floor lift pits, it can handle approximately 3,000 vehicle inspections and maintenance per year. The adjustable floor ensures optimal positioning, allowing workers to perform maintenance safely and without strain.

By building a system to consistently provide machinery in perfect condition to sites, we achieve both improved maintenance quality and response speed, thereby strengthening stable supply in infrastructure sites.

Equipment to Shorten Maintenance Time

We have shortened the cleaning time that invariably occurs upon return, minimizing the overall maintenance time. In the heavy machinery cleaning line, cleaning efficiency is enhanced through the use of a wash pool and multiple cleaning nozzles, while the automobile cleaning line performs powerful cleaning with 14 nozzles, enabling high-quality cleaning in a short time. Furthermore, we prioritize environmental consideration by maximizing the use of well water and recycled water.

Role as a "Disaster Prevention Base" Functioning During Disasters

Nagano Prefecture suffered significant damage from the Chikuma River flooding during Typhoon Hagibis in 2019, and Ishikawa Prefecture from the Noto Peninsula Earthquake in 2024. The importance of a rapid infrastructure recovery system is currently increasing. The "Nagano Chikuma Technopark General Factory" is equipped to maintain its functions and support recovery activities even in emergencies. It is furnished with 20,000L light oil storage, emergency power generators, water tanks, and a heliport, ensuring emergency access and communication means. With complete accumulation functions for disaster relief materials and supplies, it contributes to strengthening disaster response capabilities as a "regional disaster prevention base."

"Kurara Planting Project" to Protect Endangered Species

At the Nagano Chikuma Technopark General Factory, as part of environmental conservation activities in collaboration with the local community, a planting project will be promoted with local students and stakeholders. With the motto "Let's revive the Large Blue butterfly in the Obasute Rice Terraces," nearby agricultural high schools and butterfly conservation organizations will also participate, developing as a region-wide activity.

The "Kurara (bitter clover)" planted within the factory premises is an essential plant for the growth of the endangered Large Blue butterfly (※2), and its conservation holds significant meaning from the perspective of ecosystem maintenance. Since the larvae of the Large Blue butterfly feed only on the flowers and buds of Kurara, the regeneration of Kurara's natural habitat directly leads to the regeneration of the butterfly's habitat.

※2 The Large Blue butterfly is a type of Lycaenidae butterfly, designated as Class IB endangered in the Nagano Prefecture Red Data Book and also listed as a rare wild animal and plant in Nagano Prefecture.
