AiCAN Inc. Aims to Solve Child Abuse: "Transforming the World into a Safe Place for All Children" #April Dream

## ■ "Transforming the World into a Safe Place for All Children"

What we at AiCAN aim for is a society where all children can live authentically and with hope.

Child abuse is an issue without a definitive answer yet, as defined in SDG 16.2: "End abuse, exploitation, trafficking and all forms of violence against and torture of children."

In Japan, the number of consultations has been increasing year by year, exceeding 200,000 cases in 2020, but the frontline is under pressure due to a shortage of staff and the difficulty of responding with highly complex judgments.

We integrate on-site experience and the latest technology to develop and provide services that support organizations on the front lines of child abuse response, such as local government child guidance centers, child-rearing support divisions, and maternal and child health divisions. We will update the systems that protect children, as well as the underlying values, and promote "protecting children as a whole society" together with everyone involved with children.

## ■ AiCAN's Initiatives

We aim to solve the social issue of child abuse by integrally providing the business support app "AiCAN" for local government child abuse response and specialized training and accompanying support.

### Accompaniment-type Business Support (AiCAN Service)

It consists of a web application, cloud database, and AI for data analysis, which can be used from tablet devices.

By utilizing a secure network, tablet devices, and app functions aligned with business workflows, it contributes to "operational efficiency," "smoother communication," and "improved quality of judgment" in child guidance operations. As a result, it creates an environment where staff can concentrate on supporting children and families.

- Input can be done from a tablet even during spare time, such as while on the move.
- Chat function and photo-taking function facilitate accurate information sharing among staff.
- Based on past data, it displays co-existing risks of abuse and items that should be prioritized for investigation, supporting judgment and response.

## ■ Achievements to Date

The AiCAN service has been introduced in 17 local governments nationwide, with 59 implementation sites, covering a total child population (under 18) of approximately 1.64 million people. (As of March 2026)

Introduction is expected to expand to approximately 30 local governments during FY2026.

## ■ The Future of AiCAN

Standing on the front lines of the unresolved social issue of child abuse are local government officials and supporters. AiCAN's unwavering mission is to support their "hands" as they face complex judgments daily and struggle in demanding environments.

Through the "AiCAN service," which integrates on-site experience and the latest technology, we not only improve operational efficiency but also create an environment where supporters can dedicate themselves to their original role of "being close to children and families." We are currently moving forward with 17 local governments nationwide, but our challenge has just begun.

By "supporting supporters," we aim to "transform the world into a safe place for all children" beyond them. AiCAN will continue to run as the closest companion to everyone on the front lines, hoping that the smiles of children will increase, one by one, more today than yesterday, and more tomorrow than today.
