AD Works Group Conducts Coffee Tree Planting in Nepal as Part of 140th Anniversary Project

AD Works Group Co., Ltd. (Location: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative: President & CEO Hideo Tanaka), which is involved in businesses such as investment real estate, will implement coffee tree planting in Nepal as part of its 140th-anniversary commemorative project.

As we approach our 140th anniversary, we have been considering initiatives not only to celebrate this milestone but also to create opportunities for new value creation for the next decade and towards our 150th anniversary. Through this project, we aim to contribute to the local economy involved in coffee cultivation and realize our company's vision: "Create a cycle of wealth and build a society where everyone can ignite their inner fire."

1. Thinking about social issues through the familiar "coffee"

Coffee is a familiar drink enjoyed daily by many of our employees. On the other hand, the "Coffee 2050 Problem" points to concerns about future production decreases due to deforestation and associated climate change. This project was adopted as an initiative to support sustainable coffee cultivation and create an opportunity to think about environmental and social issues, using the familiar coffee as a starting point.

Approximately three years after planting, the harvested coffee beans will be delivered to donors. A unique feature of this project is that it allows participants to imagine and reflect on the future of coffee and the company, rather than just planting trees and ending the initiative.

2. Sustainable coffee cultivation spreading in Nepal

This project is being implemented through BIKAS COFFEE LLC (Location: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; Representative: Yuki Sugai, hereinafter "BIKAS COFFEE"), which cultivates and sells Nepalese coffee. In 2025, AD Works Group held an in-house seminar by BIKAS COFFEE, providing employees with an opportunity to learn about the social issues facing the coffee industry. Prompted by this seminar, employees who agreed with the company's efforts to solve social issues through coffee cultivation proposed the coffee tree planting as part of the 140th-anniversary project.

Nepal is an emerging coffee-producing region with an environment suitable for cultivation, particularly in its mountainous areas. BIKAS COFFEE promotes agroforestry, cultivating coffee while utilizing existing forest environments, rather than the plantation model that involves deforestation for large-scale farm development. Many employees support this challenge of cultivating essential coffee while protecting the natural environment.

3. "Cycle of Wealth" connected by coffee tree planting

Meanwhile, in rural Nepal, one of the social issues is the emigration of young people for work abroad and the resulting aging of agricultural workers. This project will contribute to creating additional income for farmers and expanding employment opportunities for young people in Nepal.

Approximately three years after planting, coffee beans harvested from the planted trees are scheduled to be delivered to donors.

This initiative, which goes beyond simple donations or tree-planting activities by supporting local production and allowing donors to receive the results, embodies the vision that AD Works Group and BIKAS COFFEE share: to "create a cycle of wealth."

Through this initiative, AD Works Group aims to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society, deepen the connection between the company and its employees, and revitalize the organization, using the 140th anniversary as a catalyst.
