First Facility Operational: Essential Grid-Connected Storage Batteries for Renewable Energy Proliferation In recent years, with the advancement of DX and the shift from fossil fuels to electricity, electricity demand continues to increase. The government has set a goal to increase the ratio of renewable energy to over 40% by 2040. To ensure a stable supply of renewable energy, which is susceptible to natural cycles and has fluctuating power generation, the widespread adoption of grid-connected storage batteries is indispensable for responding to output fluctuations and balancing electricity supply and demand. ADW has been engaged in the development of grid-connected storage batteries since 2025. The 'ADW Mie Matsusaka City Storage Battery Plant', its first facility completed in January of this year, has now completed its trial operation and main connection (※) and has commenced operations. Initially, operations will begin in the JPEX wholesale market, with plans to enter the supply and demand adjustment market after a certain monitoring period.

※Main connection: The physical and technical connection of an independent 'grid-connected storage battery (storage plant)' to the transmission and distribution network (grid) managed by the power company, enabling the exchange of electricity.
