Ace Co., Ltd. Re-enters Southeast Asian Market. First Store Opening at 'Mitsukoshi BGC' in the Philippines on 4/8, Expanding Operations in 3 Countries.

Ace Co., Ltd., a bag manufacturer (Head Office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Hiroaki Morishita), is making a full-scale re-entry into the Southeast Asian market, where it was forced to scale back operations due to global travel restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic. Amidst remarkable economic growth and expected future development in this market, the company will once again strengthen its local presence, driven by expanding demand for high-quality, Japan-made bags & luggage.

As part of this initiative, a joint venture company has been established in the Philippines, and its first store will open on the first floor of Mitsukoshi BGC, a commercial facility in Manila, on April 8, 2026.

In Singapore and Malaysia, subsidiaries will be established to progressively expand store development.

Locally, the company will offer multiple brands tailored to various uses and lifestyles, including the Japanese travel bag brand “PROTECA” and the bag & luggage brand “ace.”

■Philippines: Joint venture established, first store opening on 1st floor of Mitsukoshi

In the Philippines, a joint venture agreement was concluded with a local partner company, and the joint venture company “Primer

ACE Philippines Inc.” was established on December 23, 2025. Through collaboration with the local partner company, Ace aims to build a business foundation utilizing their distribution network and sales know-how. The first store opening is scheduled for April 8, 2026, on the 1st floor of Mitsukoshi BGC.

■Singapore: Resumption of direct sales

On August 8, 2025, the Singapore subsidiary “ACE SINGAPORE LUGGAGE PTE. LTD.” was re-established.

Currently, the company is proceeding with the handover from its agent, and will resume direct sales operations at two stores: “Takashimaya Singapore” and “Isetan Scotts Store.”

■Malaysia: Re-entry with an eye on direct management

In Malaysia, the local subsidiary “ACE MALAYSIA LUGGAGE SDN. BHD.” was established on August 12, 2025.

The company re-entered the market in a POP-UP format at “ISETAN KLCC (Kuala Lumpur)” on November 28 and at “SEIBU” from January 9, 2026. The deployment at “SEIBU” will continue until the scheduled relocation period in June 2026, after which direct stores are planned to open.
