## Overview
Axel Lab (Headquarters: Shinjuku, Tokyo; CEO: Manabu Kogure) has announced the upcoming launch of 'Akuvox A05,' a facial recognition access control reader for its smart home service for rental housing, 'SpaceCore,' starting at the end of June 2026.

The Akuvox A05 is an access control terminal installed at the entrances of multi-unit residential buildings, allowing tenants to unlock automatic doors using facial recognition. It does not possess intercom functionality, enabling the introduction of a smart entrance experience without modifying existing intercom systems.

## Background
In recent years, facial recognition security has transitioned from a niche differentiator to a standard feature in the condominium market. While demand is growing in the rental housing market, installing high-functionality, integrated intercom/facial recognition terminals often presents challenges related to cost and compatibility with existing infrastructure. Axel Lab has previously offered the 'Akuvox X915S,' but to provide a more accessible option for a wider range of buildings—including medium-to-large-scale complexes—the company is now adding the intercom-free reader 'Akuvox A05' to its lineup.

## Key Features
- **Minimal Infrastructure Impact**: Since it lacks intercom capabilities, facial recognition can be added while retaining existing intercom systems.
