ABEMA, the "new future TV," will broadcast the first episode of its new original dating reality show 'Renai Byoin' (Love Hospital) (6 episodes in total) on the "ABEMA SPECIAL Channel" starting April 2, 2026 (Thursday) at 10 PM JST, featuring "adults who have forgotten serious love" confronting their true feelings.

'Renai Byoin' is a dating program where adults who have become engrossed in their work and forgotten about love confront romance through a 2-night, 3-day cohabitation. Ten men and women who have been active at the forefront of various fields such as politics, economy, and culture gather to unfold a documentary of awkward adult romance.

Participants include 5 male members: Shinji (Shinji Ishimaru/43 years old), a former politician; Hideo (Hideo Ishiguro/37 years old), an actor who appeared in famous dramas such as 'Gokusen' and 'Hanzawa Naoki'; Ryusei (Ryusei Kuwata/40 years old), a general director of "Reiwa no Tora" and entrepreneur; Yuto (Yuto Koizumi/30 years old), a former J-League player and culinary researcher; and Masakatsu (Masakatsu Shizukuishi/32 years old), a freelance announcer. The 5 female members include Asa (Asa Kamiya/25 years old), a current University of Tokyo graduate student and Miss Todai 2020 & Miss Campus 2021 Grand Prix winner; Izumi (Izumi Chima/33 years old), a Nishitokyo City Council member and former elementary school teacher; Erina (Erina Hirakawa/33 years old), a company employee and talent who is currently a single mother; Natsuko (Natsuko Tatsumi/38 years old), a former top gravure idol; and Haruka (Haruka Ikeda/30 years old), a business owner and former auto mechanic. Episode #1 begins with the participants meeting for the first time. Among the diverse members active in various fields such as business owners, actors, city council members, and freelance announcers, the appearance of former politician Shinji (Shinji Ishimaru) at the end caused a stir among participants, who exclaimed, "No way!?" "Is there anyone who doesn't know him!?" "Oh no! This is too scary!" The studio also expressed surprise at the unconventional participant.

In a subsequent conversation, when Izumi asked Shinji, "How about love?" Shinji revealed his reason for staying away from love, saying, "As a public figure, I would involve those around me. I've spent the last few years thinking that everyone would dislike being in a relationship with me." When asked about "serious love," he even counter-questioned, "What is serious? When some members struggle to join conversations, "medicine" is immediately prescribed, and a "potent remedy" is also administered during dates to rapidly close the distance between two people.
