The creative collective 'Apriori.Art', active as the 93rd generation of 100BANCH's GARAGE Program, will exhibit the participatory art project 'Hachiko Statue 3.0 - Irei-sai' at 'WE LOVE HACHI 2026 ~2DAYS of Conveying Love from Shibuya and Akita~'. This event is organized by Akita Cable Television Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Akita City, Akita Prefecture), headquartered in Akita Prefecture, the hometown of the faithful dog Hachiko. It will be held on Saturday, April 4, and Sunday, April 5, 2026, at 'Scene12' on the 12th floor of Shibuya Scramble Square.

'Apriori.Art' is a creative collective that redefines origami from children's play to art. In this project, as a participatory work connecting Odate City, Akita Prefecture (Hachiko's hometown) and Shibuya (where he continued waiting for his master) with 'cranes of prayer', a thousand paper cranes folded by children from Shibuya Ward and Odate City, as well as visitors, will be incorporated into a life-sized wireframe with built-in LEDs, creating a glowing, modern version of the Hachiko statue on the spot.

Additionally, a collection of 'Hachiko reinterpretation' works by artists from 100BANCH, the Shibuya base of 'Apriori.Art', will also be exhibited. Admission is free, and same-day participation is possible (no reservations required).

The completed work is scheduled to be donated and dedicated at the '91st Faithful Dog Hachiko Memorial Service' to be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026.

■ 'Hachiko Statue 3.0 - Irei-sai' Exhibition Concept: Irei = Memorial / Unprecedented

The Hachiko statue was built in 1934 in Shibuya, a city where all cultures intermingle, to honor the 'faithful dog' Hachiko, who continued to wait for his master and showed loyalty even after his master passed away.

About a century has passed since then. Modern Shibuya continues to evolve into a place where creators with strong enthusiasm and creativity cross paths and create new value every day. So, when the 'Hachiko Statue', which has quietly watched over their creative activities as a good neighbor, intersects with the sensibilities of artists, what kind of 'different appearance' will it show?

This exhibition is defined as an 'Irei-sai (Unprecedented Festival)', not just a simple memorial (mourning the deceased). It is designed to allow visitors to view everything, including the past activities of creators and artists active mainly in Shibuya, and the process of how they interpreted the 'Hachiko Statue' and output 'different examples'.

Through this exhibition... this festival, please turn your thoughts to what the 'Hachiko Statue', who is also your neighbor, and the scene of 'Shibuya' where you are now, will look like from your perspective.
