Kochi Prefecture Forestry University (Kochi Prefecture, Kami City), headed by architect Kengo Kuma, will hold an online course on wooden architecture (Organizer: Kochi Prefecture Forestry University, Supporters: Japan Federation of Architects and Building Engineers Associations / Kochi Prefecture Wood Association). This is a series of three public lectures, each with a different theme and lecturer. This release announces the first lecture.

We look forward to participation from everyone interested in wooden architecture, including not only architectural practitioners but also students studying architecture and those involved in forests and forestry. As the use of wood in medium-to-large scale buildings continues to expand, please take advantage of this course to deepen your understanding of future wooden architecture.

The first lecture will feature Noriaki Yamada, Representative Director of Noriaki Yamada Structural Engineers Inc.!

Lecture Theme: "Structural Examples of Low-Rise, Medium-to-Large Scale Wooden Buildings" This lecture will introduce case studies of low-rise, medium-to-large scale wooden buildings using various materials, systems, and details.
