Komono Town, Mie Prefecture, will hold the 46th Komono Town Fire Corps Firefighting Drill Competition on Sunday, June 28, 2026. This competition is an event where fire corps members compete in the basic operations of firefighting using fire truck pumps, judged on three criteria: accuracy, speed, and safety.
A total of 159 fire corps members from 7 groups and 10 teams within the town train rigorously every day to protect the lives and property of residents from fires, wind, and flood damage. The event will showcase the results of their training and serve as an opportunity to deepen understanding and interest in community disaster prevention.

Date & Time: Sunday, June 28, Reiwa 8 (2026), 8:00 AM – approx. 11:30 AM *Postponed to Sunday, July 5, 2026, if weather warnings are issued. *Postponement will be announced on the disaster prevention radio around 6:50 AM on the day.

Event Details
Firefighting Drill Competition A series of operations from fire truck pump operation to water discharge will be demonstrated in a competitive format. Visitors can witness the disciplined movements and serious demeanor of the members up close.
Ladder Truck Ride and Disaster Prevention Experience Many fire trucks will gather at the venue, and in addition to ladder truck ride experiences, earthquake experiences using a shaking vehicle are also planned. This provides an opportunity for families with children to learn about disaster prevention while having fun.
Food Trucks Food trucks are also scheduled to visit as content to enliven the competition, allowing visitors to enjoy light meals.
