Kanagawa Prefecture's Consumer Affairs Division Wins Excellence Award at Consumer Education Materials Awards 2026 with Digital Educational Program 'STEP UP & JUMP UP'!

We are pleased to announce that 'STEP UP & JUMP UP,' a digital consumer education program developed by Kanagawa Prefecture, has received the Excellence Award at the Consumer Education Materials Awards 2026.

The Consumer Education Materials Awards is an award program that recognizes educational materials submitted by government agencies, corporations, industry associations, and consumer groups. Out of 47 entries this year, 'STEP UP & JUMP UP' was selected as an Excellence Award winner following a rigorous evaluation by the selection committee.

'STEP UP & JUMP UP' is a digital educational program offering diverse content such as videos, simulations, calculation tools, and knowledge checks. While primarily designed for use in middle and high school classrooms, it enables learners of all ages to understand consumer issues as personal matters, deepen their comprehension, and learn effective response strategies in an enjoyable and efficient manner.

4. Future Plans

As an Excellence Award recipient, the program will undergo classroom trials and evaluations by teachers, followed by further selection, with the Cabinet Office Minister for Consumer Affairs Award expected to be announced in April of Reiwa 9. Building on this achievement, Kanagawa Prefecture will further promote outreach and awareness initiatives to prevent consumer problems before they occur.
