Sagamihara City Museum reopened its planetarium on July 16 last year, featuring the largest dome in Kanagawa Prefecture at 23 meters in diameter. It has been reborn as the world's first planetarium where visitors can simultaneously experience 1 billion stars and 8K full-dome video.
The renovated planetarium has received tremendous acclaim from visitors both within and outside the city, with over 100,000 guests having enjoyed its shows. To express gratitude to all attendees, the museum will host the "Planetarium 1st Anniversary Commemorative Event" on Thursday, July 16, 2026.
