The 'Dove Tree' (Handkerchief Tree) is in full bloom at the Chikozan Park Urban Green Botanical Garden (622 Kashiwabara, Sayama City).
The 'Dove Tree,' which looks as if two handkerchiefs are hanging from it, only grows wild in the deep mountainous regions from central to southwestern China. There are two 'Dove Trees' in the park, and this year, they have once again bloomed their 'white handkerchiefs.'

Dove Tree Overview
The Dove tree has no petals; numerous male flowers and one bisexual flower form a single spherical shape, blooming in a way that looks like they are embraced by two large asymmetrical bracts of about 15 cm. Many people visit every year looking forward to seeing the two large bracts, which are likened to handkerchiefs.

Get off at 'Sayama-shi Station' on the Seibu Shinjuku Line. Take a route bus from the West Exit of Sayama-shi Station.
Board the Seibu Bus bound for 'Chikozan Park'.
Get off at 'Chikozan Park' and walk for about 20 minutes.
Board the Seibu Bus bound for 'Saiboku'. Get off at 'Uwajuuku' and walk for about 15 minutes.
Get off at 'Kasahata Station' on the JR Kawagoe Line. Take a route bus from Kasahata Station.
Board the Tobu Bus bound for 'Saiboku'. Get off at 'Saiboku' and walk for about 15 minutes.
