Sapporo Share Cycle [Porocle] Starts Operations at 10:00 AM on Sunday, April 5. Two New Ports Established Near Nijuyonken Station on the Tozai Subway Line!

The share cycle 'Porocle,' operating in central Sapporo, will begin operations at 10:00 AM on Sunday, April 5, with approximately 620 bicycles and over 60 ports, maintaining the same scale as last season! While keeping last year's scale, we will update some vehicles this season to ensure a comfortable ride. This year, we are establishing new ports near 'Nijuyonken Station' on the Tozai Subway Line, a highly requested western area. We will continue to provide safe services so that citizens and tourists have more transportation options and can easily explore the city of Sapporo. On the opening day, Chairman Mikiharu Arimura will be available for press interviews from 10:00 AM at '59_Ekimae Dori miredo front port' (Kita 3 Nishi 3, Chuo-ku). [Cumulative Member Registrations / Usage Counts (by Year)] In fiscal 2025, cumulative member registrations exceeded 110,000, and usage counts increased by 10% from the previous year to 562,947. Bicycles were used not only for daily activities like commuting and shopping but also for sightseeing and strolling. Additionally, due to the increasing use of the sightseeing plan (1-day pass) by international visitors year by year, we are providing multilingual usage guides and promoting safe riding awareness. Furthermore, we are promoting efforts for bicycle traffic safety awareness and utilization in collaboration with professional sports teams in Hokkaido. ■ For Safe Bicycle Usage Starting April 1, 2026, the 'Traffic Violation Notification System (Blue Ticket)' will be applied to bicycles. 'Knowing' and 'obeying' bicycle rules are 'indispensable actions to protect one's own safety.' Porocle will continue its activities with stakeholders so that Sapporo becomes a 'city where everyone can travel safely and with peace of mind.' Additionally, we are running the 'Safety Support Discount' campaign, where Porocle members can purchase bicycle helmets at a special discount price. This initiative, in its third year for the 2026 season, is conducted in collaboration with Aeon Hokkaido Co., Ltd., which is committed to raising awareness of safe bicycle use, to make helmets more familiar and encourage safe riding habits.
