Enoshima Electric Railway Co., Ltd. (Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture, President: Satoshi Kuroda) will hold the "Summer Vacation Enoshima Children's Lab" on Enoshima Island as an initiative to create a safe place for elementary school students to spend their summer vacation.
This initiative is planned as a project selected by Kanagawa Prefecture's "Regional Children-First Momentum Building Project" and will be implemented in collaboration with companies and universities interested in children and child-rearing. Through hands-on activities provided by cooperating companies, participants will be offered opportunities for learning and discovery that cannot be obtained in their regular school lives. Furthermore, a safe environment will be ensured through supervision by university student volunteers during the activities.
During the summer vacation, the number of children who need a place to spend their daytime hours due to parental work or other reasons increases. Therefore, securing a safe place for children and reducing the burden of child-rearing for parents are important social issues.
Through this initiative, our company aims to provide a safe place for children to spend their day, create an environment where companies and organizations can easily participate in child-rearing support, and build a system that continuously supports places for children in the community as a whole.
