Nagaya Architects + ddessin Win iF DESIGN AWARD 2026

The Aicote Ryowa HQ Office, for which Nagaya Architects + ddessin provided design and supervision, has won the iF DESIGN AWARD 2026, one of the world's three most prestigious design awards.

The design and supervision were carried out by Nagaya Architects + ddessin (https://www.yn-a.com).

The office features a nested structure with five frame spaces arranged in three rows within an existing factory. While accepting the factory's original form, the design aims to draw the surrounding scenery deep into the interior, creating an architecture where people and the environment blend together.

This resulted in a comfortable, elegant, and beautiful office building. By using local materials such as Tono Hinoki (cypress) with a consciousness of local production for local consumption, the architecture was intended to take root in that specific location. We regard this as an important model for future renovation methods.
