Rakuten Life Insurance Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "Rakuten Life") has started accepting applications via its official website for the 'Rakuten Life Super Whole Life Insurance (official name: Low Surrender Refund Type Whole Life Insurance) Short-Term Payment Plan' effective June 27, 2026 (Sat).

This product was developed in collaboration with Rakuten Card Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "Rakuten Card") as an exclusive application product for 'Rakuten Card', achieving an industry-leading refund rate (Note 1). Since April this year, the product has been available through in-person sales agencies, receiving favorable feedback from many customers interested in retirement planning and asset formation.

In addition to in-person applications, accepting applications via the website enables Rakuten Life to reach even more customers. Customers who prefer to complete procedures anytime and anywhere can apply online 24/7, while those wishing to consult in person may continue to use the in-person sales agency service. This hybrid service approach enhances customer convenience.

(Note 1) Based on a survey conducted by Rakuten Life in March 2026 regarding premiums and refund rates for standard-risk males and females aged 20, 30, 40, and 50 across various insurers' websites.

[Product Features]

Industry-leading refund rate after premium payments end: After completion of the premium payment period, surrender cash values exceed total paid premiums in many cases. With an industry-leading refund rate, this product can serve as part of long-term asset formation, such as preparing for retirement.

Meets diverse customer needs: As an insurance product, it provides protection for funeral expenses and inheritance planning. As a savings-type product, it also supports future savings goals such as children's education funding or preparing for a second stage of life, making it suitable for a wide range of customers.

Exclusive application for 'Rakuten Card' holders: The 'Rakuten Life Super Whole Life Insurance Short-Term Payment Plan' is exclusively available to applicants using 'Rakuten Card'. Applications are only accepted if premiums are paid via credit card using 'Rakuten Card'. Paying monthly premiums with 'Rakuten Card' earns up to 2% in 'Rakuten Points'—1% from Rakuten Life and 1% from Rakuten Card (Note 3).

[Example] For a 30-year-old male, with an insurance amount of 5,000,000 yen, a 15-year payment period, and a monthly premium of 14,430 yen, the total accumulated 'Rakuten Points' awarded (Note 4) by the end of the premium payment period amounts to 51,840 points. In addition to the industry-leading refund rate, 'Rakuten Points' earned from premium payments can be used widely for shopping, travel, future asset formation, or even paying future premiums (Note 5).

Rakuten Life, as the life insurance company within the Rakuten Group, pledges to continuously empower people and society by delivering 'security' and 'convenience' in every era.

Rakuten Card will continue striving to support comfortable and enriched daily life by responding to changing social conditions and diverse customer needs, further enhancing its services and features to provide safe and easy-to-use financial services.

(Note 3) The name on the 'Rakuten Card' used to pay premiums must be the same as the policyholder. Points awards are subject to certain conditions and limits. The points program for insurance enrollment is a system to return to Rakuten members the cost-reduction benefits achieved through the Rakuten ecosystem. If payment via 'Rakuten Card' cannot be confirmed for any reason, alternative payment methods may be suggested.

(Note 4) This indicates the cumulative number of 'Rakuten Points' received monthly until surrender. It does not represent points received at surrender.

(Note 5) Usable points range from a minimum of 50 points to a maximum equal to the monthly premium amount (1 point = 1 yen). Points can be used in increments of 1 point. Certain conditions apply. For details, please refer to 'Points Rules and Terms' on the Rakuten Life website.

[Application Details (Note 6)]

(Note 6) Online applications are only available when the policyholder and insured person are the same individual. Cases exceeding the online application scope (such as age or insurance amount) may be handled at select in-person sales agencies.

(Note 7) Contract age refers to the insured person's age on the contract date, calculated in completed years.
