Inaugural 'KIRYU FESTIVAL 2026 MUSIC & CULTURE' Blends Kiryu City's Traditional Culture with Music

The outdoor music festival 'KIRYU FESTIVAL 2026 MUSIC & CULTURE', themed around a 'Music & Craft Culture Festival', took place in Kiryu City, Gunma Prefecture, over two days on June 6 (Sat) and June 7 (Sun), 2026.

'KIRYU FESTIVAL 2026 MUSIC & CULTURE' is a festival merging Kiryu City's traditional culture with music culture, produced by GREENROOM CO., the team behind events like 'GREENROOM FESTIVAL'. Held as a 'Regional Creative' project to share the new charm of Kiryu City, it integrated local resources such as the Kiryu Yagibushi Ondo and a 'LOCAL MARKET' for experiencing local traditional crafts with performances by leading domestic artists and DJs. Approximately 5,000 people visited over the two days to enjoy live performances, local food, and traditional cultural content.

Live Report <Day 1> The first performer of Day 1 was city pop/reggae singer Natsu Summer. Following this, artists such as TENDRE, YonYon, and Tomoyuki Tanaka (FPM) appeared on the lush grass area's GRASS STAGE (LIVE stage) and the water-surrounded CASKADE STAGE (DJ stage). Additionally, Ovall, led by mabanua who moved to Kiryu City over a decade ago, and DONGROSSO—a unit featuring Kiryu-native group Dongurizu and legendary Japanese dance music producer Shinichi Osawa—brought the audience's excitement to its peak. The day concluded with everyone dancing to the locally cherished Kiryu Yagibushi Ondo.

Live Report <Day 2> Day 2 began with a yoga event by popular instructor Sayaka Shibuki. This was followed by a performance from 2007-born Kiryu-native rapper Bendy. Other artists including Tabito Nanao, ZEN-LA-ROCK, bird, and DÉ DÉ MOUSE also performed. The headliner, Monkey Majik, concluded the event. After performing their hit song 'Around The World', they sang 'Sora wa Marude' in a massive chorus with the audience.

Following the live performances, Rino Oshima, Kiryu City Ambassador and the event's MC, announced the planned holding of 'KIRYU FESTIVAL 2027 MUSIC & CULTURE'.
