TRYBE, an analog game manufacturer, will release "IT Passport Karuta (Technology Edition)" and "IT Passport Karuta (Business, Security & Ethics Edition)" on June 30, 2026, from its card game series "Ben-Game," which allows players to compete in "all genres of study" from educational to university/research levels, co-developed and operated with Kids Project Inc.
These titles were produced under the supervision of the "General Incorporated Association for Digital Human Resource Co-creation Alliance (DigiRen)," which supports digital activities for junior high and high school students. The games allow players to understand IT terms, which are also tested in the IT Passport exam, while playing.
Background of Release
Starting in fiscal year 2022, "Information I" became a compulsory subject in high schools, and "Information" was newly introduced in the 2025 Common Test for University Admissions. Knowledge of programming, networks, and information security is no longer just for specialized professionals but is becoming essential basic literacy for living in society.
On the other hand, the field of information includes many terms such as IoT, CPU, and VPN, which people may have seen or heard of but find difficult to visualize the specific meaning. In addition, the prevalence of foreign words and abbreviations makes it difficult for many students to feel engaged at the entry level of learning, thinking it "looks difficult" or "hard to remember."
Therefore, these products are designed to allow everyone to experience the subject of "Information" through "analog games" that are easy to approach. Through the game flow of listening to explanations, predicting terms, and quickly taking the correct card, players can engage with the meaning and usage of IT terms.
About "IT Passport Karuta"
"IT Passport Karuta" is a speed-catching card game where players quickly grab the correct abbreviation card based on hints about IT terms.
The reader reads out hints like "Something that allows devices such as personal computers and printers to communicate with each other and exchange data," and other players guess, "LAN?" "WAN?" "VPN?" while searching for the correct card.
The game features basic IT terms that appear in the IT Passport exam, such as CPU, LAN, API, VPN, IoT, and AI. Many terms, even if familiar, can be confusing when explained, and the more you play, the more "vaguely familiar" turns into "understanding the meaning."
The cards also include the full names and explanations of the terms, making them useful for checking and reviewing after the game. By transforming IT terms, which are often difficult to grasp through memorization alone, into a game experience of listening, thinking, and taking, it can be enjoyed as an entry point to qualification study.

What is "Ben-Game"?
A card game series where players compete in "all genres of study" from educational to university/research levels.
3 Features
1 All rules are based on card games.
Various subjects such as Japanese, mathematics, science, social studies, and English can be played with the rules of well-known card games like Old Maid, Concentration, Speed, and Poker. Knowledge to be learned and skills to be acquired are naturally retained while playing. Since the rules are familiar, no explanation is needed, and you can enjoy it immediately.
2 Covers all genres from educational to university/research levels.
The lineup extends beyond the five core subjects to specialized fields such as literature and advanced mathematics.
Plans include content from university/research levels such as astronomy and psychology, as well as preparation for certifications and the bar exam.
3 The fun of competing in your strong areas.
You can learn while playing, and the more you know, the easier it is to win the game.
And because you can win, you come to like it, and because you like it, you become even better, creating a virtuous cycle.
You might even find yourself liking subjects you previously disliked.
