Thinker Inc. Collaborates as Lead Organizer for New 'Random Bin Picking Robot' Category in SME Labor-Saving Subsidy

Thinker Inc. (Headquarters: Osaka, Japan; CEO: Hiromichi Fujimoto), a company realizing robots that are as easy to use as home appliances, has collaborated as a lead organizer for the establishment of a new category, 'Random bin picking robot,' under the SME Labor-Saving Investment Subsidy (catalog-order type) promoted by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). Following the establishment of this category, the company is proceeding with the registration process for its product, 'Thinker Model A.' Thinker will exhibit 'Thinker Model A' and new solutions based on its technology at ROBOT TECHNOLOGY JAPAN 2026, held at Aichi Sky Expo from June 11 to 13, 2026.

Thinker Model A A random bin picking robot that flexibly handles tasks previously considered difficult, such as picking transparent materials, soft/fragile parts, or items on sagging trays, by combining Thinker's 'Think Hand F' robot hand with camera-based image analysis. It promotes the automation of processes such as inspection and inter-process transportation, contributing to labor-saving in diverse work environments including those dealing with high-mix low-volume items.

'Think Hand proto-2' Robot Hand for Automating Wire Harness Fitting Thinker has newly developed 'Think Hand proto-2,' a robot hand equipped with 'Tactile Connecting Technology' that automates the fitting process of wire harnesses using unique sensing technology. Previously, Thinker contributed to the automation of manufacturing sites through the implementation of 'Tactile Picking Technology,' which picks up randomly placed parts and places them in designated locations. By combining this with the new 'Tactile Connecting Technology,' the company can now cover not only sorting and placing but also installation, assembly, and fitting processes, significantly expanding the possibilities for automation in manufacturing.
