Shireru Inc. (Headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture; Representative Director: Mikan Yamada), which develops official primary information databases for municipalities and companies, has begun a survey on the actual state of public relations operations in two cities and five towns within Fukuoka Prefecture this fiscal year.
Shireru Inc. and Koga City, Fukutsu City, Kasuya Town, Shingu Town, Hisayama Town, Sasaguri Town, and Umi Town in Fukuoka Prefecture Launch Demonstration
The survey aims to understand the daily PR workflow, whether regular press conferences are held, and the frequency and distribution methods of press releases. It will also identify areas where operations can be systemized.
The findings from these interviews will be used as a reference for the development of the official primary information database "Shireru," with the goal of implementing the system in multiple municipalities in Fukuoka Prefecture this winter.
Overview of Demonstration Experiment
Participating Municipalities: Koga City, Fukutsu City, Kasuya Town, Shingu Town, Hisayama Town, Sasaguri Town, and Umi Town in Fukuoka Prefecture
Period: April 1, 2026 (Wed) - October 30, 2026 (Fri)
Content: To understand the daily PR workflow, whether regular press conferences are held, and the frequency and distribution methods of press releases, and to identify areas where operations can be systemized.
Official Primary Information Database "Shireru"
Developed by a former TV reporter to "prevent the desertification of local news and promote the local consumption of information." By standardizing the methods by which multiple municipalities distribute "press releases" to reporters and making them available on a website in a data format, it will become easier for municipal staff, reporters, and local residents to access regional information.
Background of Service Development
In 42.8% of regions, the number of reporters using "administrative press clubs" to receive materials from municipalities is decreasing. This is the current situation of information flow stagnation nationwide (according to our survey). This is due to the financial difficulties and staff shortages faced by mass media, making it increasingly difficult for reporters to review press releases from local governments. Therefore, the "Official Primary Information Database Shireru" aims to prevent the "news desertification" of local areas by creating a platform where necessary information can be accessed by those who need it, by digitizing these municipal press releases into a database.
