Keio University School of Medicine-launched venture company OUI Inc. (pronounced 'Oui Wink') has partnered with Dai-ichi Life Insurance Company, Limited, to commence a business collaboration starting April 1, 2026, aimed at resolving productivity loss (presenteeism) caused by health issues faced by corporate employees. Through this partnership, in conjunction with Dai-ichi Life's corporate sales channels, OUI Inc.'s corporate visit-based ophthalmological examination service, 'Mobile Eye Scan,' will be provided to companies nationwide.

■ Background of the Business Partnership
In recent years, the state where employees work while experiencing physical or mental discomfort, leading to a decline in productivity or work quality without resulting in absence, known as 'presenteeism,' has garnered attention as a critical issue in corporate management. While the recognition of the importance of addressing presenteeism in promoting health management is growing, many companies struggle with issues such as 'not being able to grasp their current situation' or 'not being able to translate challenges into concrete measures.'
This initiative is part of Dai-ichi Life's 'Presenteeism Countermeasure Package,' which comprehensively supports from visualizing presenteeism to implementing countermeasures. It offers OUI Inc.'s corporate visit-based ophthalmological examination, 'Mobile Eye Scan,' as a measure to address eye discomfort among employees.

■ Programs Provided Through the Business Partnership
Through Dai-ichi Life's sales network, 'Mobile Eye Scan,' OUI Inc.'s corporate visit-based ophthalmological examination service, will be provided to diverse companies across Japan.
'Mobile Eye Scan' is a service where ophthalmologists and orthoptists visit companies directly to offer a simple eye examination to busy business professionals during their work breaks. Utilizing portable ophthalmological examination equipment, including OUI Inc.'s self-developed smartphone attachment medical device 'Smart Eye Camera (SEC),' the service screens for eye diseases in a short time, facilitating referrals to ophthalmologists. Furthermore, it enhances employee awareness of eye health through seminars by ophthalmologists and quantifies the economic impact of reduced productivity due to eye diseases, thereby supporting operational efficiency, productivity improvement, and corporate health management.
OUI Inc.'s initiatives, including 'Mobile Eye Scan,' which deliver ophthalmological care to populations that have historically had limited access to it for various reasons, have been highly recognized, receiving the Excellence Award at the 5th Japan Service Awards in December 2025.

■ Eye Health and Presenteeism
Eye health is deeply connected to presenteeism. In modern workplaces, tasks such as computer work, smartphone use, document review, and reading meeting materials place a significant burden on the eyes, making concentration and judgment easily affected even by minor discomfort.
Eye strain, dry eyes, blurred vision, and difficulties with focus adjustment reduce concentration. Simply having difficulty seeing the screen can slow reading speed, increase errors, and decrease work efficiency. Even if individuals believe they are 'working,' their productivity may actually be declining. Furthermore, eye discomfort can lead to headaches, stiff shoulders, neck stiffness, and fatigue. It doesn't stop at just eye problems; it can lead to further losses in labor productivity due to a decline in overall physical condition.
By accurately understanding employees' eye health status, it is possible to implement correct measures such as improving lighting environments, adjusting screen readability, promoting breaks, encouraging regular ophthalmological visits, and reviewing contact lenses or eyeglasses, leading to improvements.
To date, OUI Inc. has provided ophthalmological examinations to over 1,500 business professionals in approximately 20 companies through Mobile Eye Scan. While about 90% of participants report some eye discomfort or subjective symptoms, only about 10% undergo regular ophthalmological visits. The reality is that many people experience discomfort or symptoms but leave them unaddressed due to busyness.
Through this partnership, we aim to deliver eye examinations to more companies and broadly support the promotion of 'health management' to enable employees to work longer, healthier, safer, and more productively!
