To create an environment where women can work with fulfillment, MAIA Inc. (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Yuka Tsukida; hereinafter "MAIA"), which supports the digitalization of companies and local governments nationwide and fosters female digital talent, will begin collaborating with freee K.K. (Head Office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Daisuke Sasaki; hereinafter "freee") and Hatena Base Inc. (Head Office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President: Kaito Setoguchi; hereinafter "Hatena Base") to further expand the learning curriculum provided through the "Digital Women Project," which is implemented in cooperation with local governments.
As the first initiative of this collaboration, the "Accounting Digital Talent" training curriculum has been decided for the "Work Digitally! Shizuoka Women's Support Program" in Shizuoka City, which began accepting applications on July 1, 2026 (Wed).
Background of Collaboration
In recent years, with the diversification of IT skills and the rapid emergence of cutting-edge technologies such as generative AI, the importance of "accounting and bookkeeping" knowledge, which supports the core of companies regardless of the era, and the skills to practice it digitally, is increasing.
MAIA has been promoting the "Digital Women Project" in cooperation with local governments nationwide, providing digital talent development and employment support for women residing in the regions. Based on the unique reskilling support and course operation knowledge cultivated to date, and in order to respond quickly to diversifying market needs, MAIA has now partnered with Hatena Base, which has extensive experience and specialized knowledge in supporting the introduction and utilization of cloud accounting software "freee Accounting." Through this, we aim to simultaneously achieve increased productivity for regional companies and economic independence for women by fostering specialized personnel who can strongly promote DX in back-office operations.
Features of the "Accounting Digital Talent" Training Curriculum
This curriculum aims to develop "Accounting Digital Talent" who can not only master bookkeeping tasks but also correctly understand management figures and support the sustainable growth of companies from the back office. The field of accounting and bookkeeping is a particularly high-volume and important area directly linked to management figures within corporate activities. By combining this with efficiency improvement skills through digital utilization, we will produce specialized personnel with high market value.
1. Visualization of Management Information (Understanding Corporate Activities Through Accounting Data)
Develops the fundamental ability to correctly interpret and visualize a company's financial status and the background of its activities through accounting data, rather than just inputting numbers.
2. Practice of Digitalizing Accounting and Bookkeeping Operations (Promoting Operational Efficiency)
Learn practical operation of essential digital tools for modern back-office operations, such as invoice and payment management, and expense settlement using the cloud, as well as methods for improving operational efficiency using these tools.
3. Perspective of Supporting Management from Accounting (Support for Management Decisions)
Acquire the thinking skills to support prompt decision-making and management judgment by executives from an advanced perspective, utilizing accumulated accounting and bookkeeping knowledge and data.
Expected Areas of Activity and Job Descriptions
Graduates of this curriculum are expected to be immediately effective in the following roles in regional companies and remote work environments:
* Efficiency improvement of bookkeeping support and accounting tasks utilizing cloud tools * Invoice creation, payment management, and expense settlement operations through digital centralized management * Support for creating management reports, graphs, etc., using accounting data * Support for introducing IT tools and promoting operational improvements in the back office
Future Outlook and Collaboration Benefits
MAIA will continue to create diverse, locally rooted employment opportunities through collaboration with local governments nationwide, under a strong partnership with Hatena Base and freee. By having the trained "Accounting Digital Talent" take charge of IT adoption and DX promotion in the accounting and bookkeeping fields, which are particular challenges for small and medium-sized enterprises in regional areas, we will directly contribute to the revitalization of regional economies and the strengthening of corporate management foundations.
Starting with the "Work Digitally! Shizuoka Women's Support Program" in Shizuoka City as the first initiative, we will promote the deployment of this curriculum in the "Digital Women Project" implemented in local governments nationwide, further accelerating the fusion of women's economic independence and regional revitalization.
