What is Builders Weekend? ── An International Product Hackathon Touring the World

Builders Weekend is an international hackathon that tours major cities worldwide such as San Francisco, New York, and London, characterized by its format of creating product prototypes in 48 hours. This Tokyo event was the first to be held in Japan, with Digital Garage serving as the main sponsor, and Lovable / VoiceOS / Supercell / RevenueCat / ElevenLabs participating as partners. 205 builders from over 15 countries worldwide gathered. The judges were Mitsumasa Kiyohara (Open Network Lab), Jerry Chi (Supercell AI Lab), Yoshi Ueda (RevenueCat), and Kai Brokering (VoiceOS).

What is the VoiceOS Award? ── An Award for the Team That Made the Most Extensive Use of the VoiceOS Voice Input App

VoiceOS is a native voice input app for Mac that allows highly accurate text input by simply pressing the fn key and speaking. It provides a next-generation input device that replaces developers' "typing time" with voice, for everything from coding and Slack to document creation.

The "VoiceOS Award" is a special award given to the team that made the heaviest use of VoiceOS during the development period. Unlike general awards that compete for product innovation, its evaluation criteria focus on "how deeply VoiceOS was integrated into the development workflow itself," and was judged by Kai Brokering, CEO of VoiceOS Inc.

Our representative, Tominaga, processed almost all tasks, including coding, prompt creation, pitch drafts, and internal team Slack, using voice input during the 48-hour hackathon. He completed the development having "used VoiceOS so extensively that he doesn't remember typing on a keyboard," leading to the team's award. This award case can be said to embody a new development style where "builders in the AI era move their mouths before their fingers."

Developed Product "MissionLingo" ── Training "Survival Language Skills in That Country" Through AI Role-Play

"MissionLingo," developed at this hackathon, is a prototype based on the concept of acquiring language by simulating real-life situations encountered in overseas living through voice role-play with AI characters. The theme is "sentence
