KSP-SP Releases Free Version of 'KSP-POS Food Supermarket MCP Server' to Enable POS Data Utilization via Generative AI

KSP-SP Co., Ltd. has announced the release of a free version of the 'KSP-POS Food Supermarket MCP Server' designed to make it easier to utilize food supermarket market POS data within generative AI and business systems. This marks the first step in their initiative to promote data utilization and Digital Transformation (DX) in the food and distribution sectors.

As the business use of generative AI expands, there is a growing movement in corporate DX promotion to incorporate sales data, such as POS data, into daily operations. In the food and distribution industry, market POS data has been widely utilized for product planning, promotional proposals, market analysis, and the creation of sales materials. Looking ahead, as generative AI and business systems continue to evolve, the opportunities to combine and process diverse datasets will increase, further broadening the scope of POS data application.

Anticipating these changes in data utilization, KSP-SP has leveraged its expertise in providing services based on food supermarket POS data to launch the free 'KSP-POS Food Supermarket MCP Server' as a novel data provision method tailored for the generative AI era.

The initial free release allows users to access ranking data based on food supermarket market POS data. Specifically, it provides the previous month's 'New Product Ranking' (across 11 categories) and 'Best-Selling Ranking' (across 14 categories), featuring the top 10 products in each category. The data is updated monthly around 8:30 AM on the 8th to reflect the previous month's figures. Users are required to credit the source as 'Source: KSP-POS (Food Supermarket)' when utilizing the data. The specific data fields retrievable vary slightly between the rankings.

Looking at the future roadmap, KSP-SP plans to release a second free version in September. This expansion will utilize the KSP standard classification (approximately 250 sub-categories) and include category aggregations, the top 50 products across all sub-categories, as well as customer traffic, average spend per customer, and items purchased per customer. Furthermore, a paid enterprise version is scheduled for release by the end of the year. The paid version will offer three years of annual, monthly, and weekly data, utilize the KSP product classification (approximately 1,000 sub-categories), and provide full rankings and average pricing data.

It is important to note that commercial use, provision to third parties, and use for AI training data of the free version are strictly prohibited. Use within AI environments is limited to those where data learning features are disabled. Since its founding in 2003, KSP-SP has provided data services to the food industry, with its flagship 'KSP-POS' being a standard utilized by approximately 300 companies.
