chikyubito Inc. participated in the recently held "SpoGOMI" event and was responsible for producing the bibs worn by the participants.
SpoGOMI is a competition that combines sports and trash collection, held nationwide as the "most peaceful sport in the world," where teams cooperate to pick up trash in the city and compete based on its weight and type.
This time, a record-breaking approximately 1,100 people participated, and the venue was full of energy throughout. It was a wonderful event where the entire community came together to clean the city, with participants of all ages, from children to adults, working together as families and corporate teams. It was impressive to see them tackle the competition as one.
What surprised me when I actually participated in the competition was that there was more trash on the ground than I had imagined, even in well-maintained areas like Ginza and Yurakucho. It was a valuable opportunity to realize the challenges of the city, which we might not notice in our daily lives, by picking up trash with our own hands.
On the day, Governor Yuriko Koike of Tokyo also participated as a special guest and picked up trash with the participants. It was impressive that the attitude of engaging in environmental conservation while enjoying it as a competition led to smiles from many participants.
Furthermore, we received many positive comments about the original bibs that our company produced, such as "The design is cute" and "Just wearing it lifts my spirits." We are very happy that the bibs were enjoyed by many as an item that enhanced the event.
SpoGOMI is an event where participants can naturally learn not only the fun of competition but also the importance of community contribution, environmental awareness, and teamwork.
chikyubito Inc. will continue to support community revitalization and social contribution activities through sports, and contribute to creating events where many people can smile.
