CAC identity Inc. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Eisuke Nakanishi; hereinafter referred to as CAC identity) has developed 'Kokoro Sensor Data Visualizer' (hereinafter referred to as KSDV), an analysis and visualization tool that organizes expression and emotion data (CSV format) acquired by 'Kokoro Sensor,' software capable of analyzing emotions from video.

We will begin offering a trial version for free testing starting in July.

Background for the Launch of 'KSDV'

'Kokoro Sensor' is an emotion analysis software independently developed by CAC identity based on the emotion recognition AI 'Affdex.' It quantifies the expressions and emotions of individuals captured in video files and real-time footage, and can output logs in CSV format. It is used in a wide range of fields, including academic research, UX research, and marketing verification.

However, it is not easy to derive meaning from the output CSV logs as they are. Tasks such as graphing the transition of emotion scores, extracting specific time periods, and comparing differences between subjects or conditions often require preprocessing with spreadsheet software or programs, which has been a challenge, taking time before analysis can begin.

Therefore, CAC identity has newly developed 'KSDV,' a dashboard that allows for visualization and analysis of the CSV logs output by Kokoro Sensor directly within a browser. In addition to confirming emotion transitions simply by loading a CSV, all data processing is completed within the browser, making it possible to handle logs of experiment participants and survey subjects without sending them to an external server. We are launching a free trial version first for customers who are currently using or considering Kokoro Sensor.

Main Features of 'KSDV'

(1) Automatically displays a summary of the recording and emotion transitions simply by loading a CSV

When you load a CSV log output from Kokoro Sensor, a summary including recording time, total frames, major emotions, and averages is automatically displayed. In addition, the transitions of 10 types of emotion scores and indicators can be viewed on a time-series graph with the same time axis.

(2) Records event intervals and allows post-hoc confirmation of reactions to measures or tasks

By registering intervals such as video viewing, operation tasks, explanations, hints, and completion as 'event intervals,' you can check them later in conjunction with the emotion score transitions. This makes it easier to review 'when reactions changed' or 'where users got stuck.'

(3) Easy-to-understand analysis functions selectable according to use case

You can choose the perspective you want to view based on your purpose. For academic research, specialized analysis functions for detailed examination of emotional changes can be used. For UX research, indicators that make it easy to find moments when users struggled with operations or, conversely, felt comfortable, can be confirmed. For marketing verification of advertisements and videos, you can check which scenes during viewing increased interest or positive reactions.

(4) Supports comparison of data from multiple people and multiple conditions

Data involving multiple people can be switched and displayed by individual. By loading and comparing two CSVs, comparative analysis such as Condition A vs. Condition B, or before vs. after improvement, can also be performed.

(5) Data is processed within the browser, and analysis results can be output as CSV

CSV loading and analysis processing are all performed within the browser and are not sent to external servers. Furthermore, analysis results and filtered data can be output in CSV format, allowing for use in subsequent aggregation, report creation, and collaborative research verification.
