▶ About D-SHOCK
D-SHOCK is a nationwide street dance competition that started in 2016.
It features four categories: U-10 (elementary school 4th grade and younger), U-12 (elementary school 6th grade and younger), U-15 (junior high school and younger), and OPEN (high school and older), with preliminaries held across Japan.
Through both online and offline preliminaries, D-SHOCK creates an environment where dancers nationwide can challenge themselves regardless of their region.
It comprehensively evaluates originality, technical skill, and expressiveness, aiming to be a 'gateway for next-generation dancers' where many dancers aspire to perform on a national stage.
Starting this season, a new three-category system has been introduced:
'BASE' for beginners and those who have not yet won awards,
'OPEN' for national-level dancers to compete,
and the highest category 'PRIME' for a limited number of highly skilled dancers.
This evolves D-SHOCK into a competition where dancers from beginners to top-level can challenge themselves on a stage suited to their individual skill levels.
