(Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Shuntaro Ono; hereinafter "Algomatic") is pleased to announce that it has won 2nd place in the "Converting Tacit Knowledge in Manufacturing into Explicit Knowledge" category of the "GENIAC-PRIZE," a NEDO incentive-based program (NEDO Challenge) aimed at promoting research, development, and social implementation of generative AI, organized by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and NEDO. This was a joint application with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Seisaku Ito; hereinafter "Mitsubishi Heavy Industries"). The proposal, titled "Approach for converting tacit knowledge into explicit knowledge by 'comparing' task videos of experts and non-experts, using TIG welding technology as an example," presented an initiative to structurally extract and accumulate/utilize "physical knowledge"—which is difficult to verbalize—at manufacturing sites as explicit knowledge.

### About GENIAC-PRIZE GENIAC-PRIZE is a NEDO incentive-based program (NEDO Challenge) with a total prize pool of approximately 800 million yen, covering four themes across three areas (Social Issues, Government Agencies, and Safety) where solutions using generative AI services are desired. Led by METI and NEDO, the program aims to encourage development and demonstration by various entities across different regions and accelerate the utilization and social implementation of generative AI applications. At the final screening and award ceremony held on March 24, 2026, a total of 42 winners were selected from over 200 applications.
