(Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President & CEO: Eisaku Ito, hereinafter referred to as Mitsubishi Heavy Industries) for the NEDO Prize Program "GENIAC-PRIZE," an initiative organized by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and NEDO to promote R&D and social implementation in the generative AI field, and has won 2nd place in the theme "Formalization of Tacit Knowledge in Manufacturing." Under the title "Formalization of Tacit Knowledge through a 'Comparative' Approach to Work Videos of Skilled and Unskilled Workers using TIG Welding Technology as an Example," we presented a proposal for an initiative to structurally extract embodied knowledge, which is difficult to verbalize in manufacturing sites, and accumulate and utilize it as explicit knowledge.

◾️About GENIAC-PRIZE

GENIAC-PRIZE is a NEDO Prize Program (NEDO Challenge) with a total prize money of approximately 800 million yen, targeting three areas of social issues, government agencies, and safety, under the following four themes. Led by METI and NEDO, it was held to promote development and demonstration by diverse entities in various regions and to accelerate the utilization and social implementation of generative AI applications. At the final screening and awards ceremony on March 24, 2026, a total of 42 prize winners were selected from over 200 applications.
