Algomatic Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Shunsuke Ohno; hereinafter 'Algomatic') is pleased to announce that they jointly applied with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Seiji Izumisawa; hereinafter 'Mitsubishi Heavy Industries') for the NEDO prize program 'GENIAC-PRIZE,' sponsored by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and NEDO, aiming to promote R&D and social implementation in the generative AI field. They were awarded 2nd place for the theme 'Formalization of Tacit Knowledge in Manufacturing.' Their proposal, titled 'Formalization of Tacit Knowledge through a Comparative Approach of Expert and Novice Worker Videos using TIG Welding Technology as an Example,' presented an initiative to structurally extract and accumulate/utilize tacit knowledge, which is difficult to verbalize in manufacturing sites, as formal knowledge.

◾️About GENIAC-PRIZE GENIAC-PRIZE is a NEDO prize utilization program (NEDO Challenge) with a total prize money of approximately 800 million yen, targeting three domains and four themes where solutions are desired from generative AI services: social issues, government offices, and safety. Led by METI and NEDO, it aims to accelerate the utilization and social implementation of generative AI applications by promoting development and demonstration by diverse entities in various regions.
