Sendai Umino-Mori Aquarium: 3rd Collaboration with Sendai-born Figure Skater Shun Sato, Active Worldwide! 'Sato Shun Aquarium'

Sendai Umino-Mori Aquarium, an aquarium that creates new "connections" between the sea and people, and water and people, will hold the "Sato Shun Aquarium" collaboration event with Shun Sato, a figure skater from Sendai City who is active worldwide, from Wednesday, April 8, 2026, to Friday, April 24, 2026.

On the first day of the event, Wednesday, April 8, Mr. Sato will visit the aquarium as a one-day director to liven up the event.

Sato Shun Aquarium

Shun Sato, a figure skater from Sendai City, is a world-class athlete known for his diverse quadruple jumps, having won a bronze medal in men's singles figure skating and a team silver medal at the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.

Since September 2023, he has had an affiliation contract with Aim Services Co., Ltd., which handles food and merchandise businesses at Sendai Umino-Mori Aquarium, and this marks their third collaboration following last year. This year, Shun Sato will visit on the first day of the event and serve as a one-day director to energize the event.

This event will feature a collaboration between Sato's free program for this season, "The Firebird," and the sardine performance "Sparkling of Life." Additionally, event-exclusive food menus will be sold. Life-size panels of Sato, his costume, skates, and autograph will also be displayed within the aquarium.

This event allows visitors to enjoy the aquarium while experiencing the charm of Shun Sato.

April 8 (Wed) Shun Sato's Visit
Appointment as One-Day Director!!

To commemorate the "Sato Shun Aquarium" event, Shun Sato will visit the Sendai Umino-Mori Aquarium on Wednesday, April 8, the first day of the event, at 9:50 AM for his appointment ceremony as a one-day director. During the ceremony, Shun Sato will attempt to give signs to bottlenose dolphins, deliver a speech for the event, and watch the "Sparkling of Life - Sato Shun Aquarium Version -."

"Sparkling of Life - Sato Shun Aquarium Version -"

"Sparkling of Life" is a performance that weaves together the dynamic movements of a vibrant school of sardines and music, set against the backdrop of a large tank recreating the rich Sanriku sea.

This "Sparkling of Life" will collaborate with Sato's free program for this season, "The Firebird" (audio source).

Like Sato dancing on the ice, sardines shimmering silvery-white under the sunlight will express "The Firebird" with their dynamic schooling movements. Additionally, visitors can enjoy event introduction narration by Shun Sato.

Event-Exclusive Food Menu

At the 1st floor food court "wakuwaku ocean," an event-exclusive lunch set "Especially For Shun Lunch 2026" will be sold, expressing support and gratitude to Shun Sato.

The main dish is pork ginger arranged as an olive-scented rice bowl. For dessert, strawberry gelato inspired by his free program song "The Firebird" is served, topped with his favorite dried sweet potatoes.

Customers who order will receive an original sticker of Shun Sato featuring an illustration!

Life-size Panel Exhibition

A life-size panel of Shun Sato will appear in front of the Commerson's dolphin tank, which is his favorite creature.

Collaboration Exhibition & Support Message Board Corner

At the 1st floor food court "wakuwaku ocean," the costume for the 2025-2026 season's free skating program "The Firebird," Sato's skates, and his handwritten autograph will be displayed.

Additionally, a message board corner will be set up for visitors to send messages of support to Shun Sato. The collected messages will be compiled into an album and presented to Shun Sato after the event.
