[Key Lecture Content]
The Regional Medical Care Vision, Medical DX, and medical fee revisions are not isolated policies, but an integrated effort to redesign the medical care provision system. Notably, the 2026 medical fee revision is positioned not merely as a point adjustment, but as a 'guiding mechanism' to financially back the realization of the Regional Medical Care Vision and the promotion of Medical DX.
In the first half of this lecture, we will clarify the regularities inherent in the system design, based on the historical transitions of Japan's medical provision system. From there, we will outline the relationship between the functional differentiation aimed for by the Regional Medical Care Vision and the productivity improvement brought about by Medical DX.
In the second half, we will decipher what kind of medical provision system policy authorities are trying to outline amidst the constraints of a declining population, personnel shortages, and management crises, and present the essence and future prospects of the 2026 medical fee revision. Furthermore, we will specifically demonstrate the strategies that medical and nursing care facilities should adopt.
