“Travel Trading Card Iwate Hyakkei” introduces tourist spots in Iwate Prefecture.

Iwate Nippo Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture) will release “Travel Trading Card Iwate Hyakkei,” a trading card featuring famous places and scenic views in Iwate Prefecture, on May 2. The aim is to connect wide-area tourism within the prefecture, and it will be sold at accommodations, roadside stations, and bookstores.

◆ Utilizing photos published in the newspaper

There are a total of 26 types of cards. Beautiful photos taken by the company's reporters and photographers and published in the newspaper were utilized, such as Kaiun Bridge and Mt. Iwate (Morioka City), Esashi Fujiwara no Sato Historical Park (Oshu City), Miracle Pine (Rikuzentakata City), and Frost-covered Trees (Hachimantai City).

Based on the possibility of encountering the scenery in the photos, the “rarity” is set in three stages with star marks. Takashimizu Observatory (Tono City) and Saitogi (Ninohe City) are treated as three-star “super rare cards” with hologram processing.

◆ Multilingual special site

The back of the card features a description of the photo and a 2D code for a multilingual special site. When scanned with a smartphone, it displays detailed information about the corresponding card. Since only the scanned card is displayed, the smartphone becomes a “card folder.” Foreign tourists can also browse as Japanese, English, Korean, and Traditional Chinese are available.

It is completely random, so you don't know what's inside. Families, friends, and travel companions can enjoy collecting cards and the beauty of Iwate Prefecture while exchanging them.

◆ Utilizing “Iwate Nippo Generative AI”

This project aims to expand the exchange population by cardifying the diverse tourism resources of Iwate Prefecture and promoting “circulation” and “extended stays” for travelers. It is not merely a souvenir, but aims to be a new tourism circulation tool that entices travelers to their next destination starting from the card.

Since 2025, Iwate Nippo Co., Ltd. has been selling “Iwate Nippo Generative AI,” which has learned from past articles of Iwate Nippo. This product utilized “Nippo AI” for the creation of special pages and package seals.
