Profile: Anz Kanie
Painter and author. Born in Tokyo. Member of Japan PEN Club. Director of the NPO 3.11 Children's Library.
Graduated from Jiyū no Mori Gakuen. Studied printmaking in London.
Has held numerous solo exhibitions at museums, department stores, and galleries across Japan. Author of many novels, picture books, and essays.
Provided works for a Toyota "MIRAI" (Nagano Toyota) wrapping car in 2022. Collaborated with various companies, including BMW Japan's "i3" eco-car, JTA (Japan Transocean Air), and Western (confectionery shop). Since the Great East Japan Earthquake, she has been involved in activities delivering picture books and art supplies to children in disaster-affected areas and established the "Niji Bunko" library for children in Soma City, Fukushima Prefecture.
Serves as a coordinator for the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's reconstruction education support project, connecting children across the country with art. Recipient of numerous awards.
