Hakata Machiya Furusatokan Souvenir Building 'hakatakara' - 6-10 Reisen-machi, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City (*Kushida Shrine Approach)

'hakatakara,' a food and craft antenna shop that delivers the charm of Hakata by blending history and culture with modern elements, is celebrating its 1st anniversary thanks to the support of locals and tourists.

As the souvenir building of the Hakata Machiya Furusatokan, located on the approach to Kushida Shrine (affectionately known as 'Okushida-san'), we preserve traditional Hakata crafts with artisans while conveying their modern, cute, and daily appeal.

To celebrate our 1st anniversary, we are featuring merchandise of the 'Niwaka-men' (half-masks) used in the traditional performing art 'Hakata Niwaka,' a Fukuoka City-designated Intangible Folk Cultural Property.

Please experience and enjoy the 'iki' (chic) spirit of Hakata through these charming characters.
