Since its founding in 1904, GEORG JENSEN, known as a leading brand of Danish design and one of the best in Northern Europe, will announce a new collection 'The Collector' on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 (*pre-released at the Ginza flagship store).
'The Collector' consists of 11 pieces selected from research that Creative Director Paula Gerbase describes as 'an archeological exploration continuously unearthing the Georg Jensen archives'. This exploration, ongoing since she joined the brand in 2024, reveals a rich and diverse history of artistic expression spanning over 100 years.
Based on this research, The Collector is a collection of works characterized by individuality, artistry, and an experimental spirit. It embodies the creative freedom of the maison, nurtured through collaboration between artists and craftsmen.
Rather than being unified by a single design language like typical collections, each piece exists as an independent work of art.
All pieces in the collection were created by female artists invited to collaborate with the Georg Jensen workshop in the late 20th century.
Among them are Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe, the first woman to gain worldwide recognition in the field of silversmithing; Nanna Ditzel, who flourished during the golden age of post-war Danish design; and textile designer Kim Naver, who was the youngest recipient of the Georg Jensen Craft Award at the time. This is also a genealogy of artists that shows Georg Jensen's history of supporting women working in this field over the years.
As the name suggests, The Collector is conceived as an open-ended collection. It reflects the spirit of the act of collecting itself, continuing while being guided by intuition and curiosity.
A collection is not bound by a specific era, but is a continuous process of awareness, discovery, and finding value. This collection celebrates the beauty of creation born from serendipitous encounters, such as the meeting of artist and craftsman, and the moment a piece is discovered in the archive.
'The Collector' collection will be pre-released at the Georg Jensen Ginza flagship store from April 29, 2026.
